Your media stays yours. This policy explains what Shrike stores on your device and what happens when you choose a network feature.

Inside the iOS app

Shrike does not require a Shrike account and does not include advertising, tracking or third-party analytics SDKs. We do not operate a server that receives your video library, playback history, headset calibration or Bluetooth controller readings.

Data stored on your device

The app stores imported videos, file and folder access bookmarks, playback positions, viewing settings and headset/controller preferences locally. Diagnostic information is kept locally; exporting or sharing a diagnostic file is your choice. Files you choose through iCloud Drive or another file provider remain subject to that provider’s storage and privacy settings. Device backups may include app data according to your Apple settings.

Network features you choose

Opening a website or playing a network video connects your device to the address you choose. That service receives normal network information, such as your IP address and the requested URL, and applies its own privacy policy. The in-app web browser uses a non-persistent website data store. Shrike does not extract video addresses from web pages.

Wi-Fi transfer receives files directly from another device on your local network. Its temporary address contains an access token. Local transfers use HTTP, so use a trusted private network, keep the address private and close the transfer screen when finished. The transfer service stops when the app enters the background.

Permissions

Bluetooth is used to connect a compatible controller. Motion sensors support optional head tracking. Local network access supports local media and Wi-Fi transfer. File access is limited to items or folders you select through the system picker. You can manage permissions in iOS Settings.

Retention and deletion

Playback positions and preferences remain until you clear them in the app or remove the app and its local data. Use Settings to clear playback history. Imported files can be removed through the Files app; removing the app removes its local container. Files stored outside Shrike, in cloud providers or in backups must be managed separately. If you contact support, we use your email and any information you voluntarily send to respond and investigate the issue; request deletion at info@shrikevr.com.

This website and email

shrikevr.com is hosted by Cloudflare. Normal request and security information may be processed to deliver and protect the website. We have not added advertising or visitor analytics scripts. Messages sent to our support address are routed through Cloudflare to Gmail. These providers process information under their own policies: Cloudflare and Google.
